Incense is fun and easy to make. This blend is designed to spark romance and set a safe, luxurious environment for lovemaking.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons dried Rose petals (red or pink)
- 2 Tablespoons dried rosemary leaf
- 1 Teaspoon Myrrh resin
- 1 Tablespoon Sandalwood (red or white), shredded bark
- 3 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
- 2 parts cedar tips or 2 drops cedar essential oil
Equipment
- Mortar and pestle
- spice grinder/coffee grinder (optional)
- glass or non-reactive mixing bowl
- glass or non-reactive container (for storage)
Procedure
- Grind the rose petals and rosemary leaf and cedar if you’re using cedar tips into a powder and place them in the mixing bowl.
- Using the mortar and pestle, pound the Myrrh resin into a powder taking care not to let it overheat, which will cause it to gum or stick to the mortar and pestle.
- Add the myrrh to the mixing bowl.
- Add the sandalwood and essential oils to the mixing bowl.
- Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a glass or non-reactive container for storage or use your incense straight away.
Use and Storage
Store Incense for Intimacy in a tightly sealed container away from light and heat. It’s best when used immediately and can keep properly stored for a few weeks or more. You may need to freshen the essential oils before use by adding a drop or two of each if you store the mix for a long period.
You can substitute Jasmine or Geranium essential oil for the Ylang Ylang essential oil and you can substitute Cinnamon essential oil for the Cedar essential oil.
To use Incense for Intimacy, light a charcoal and place it in a firesafe dish. Once the charcoal has burned long enough to be completely lit and shows a fine layer of gray ash, add a pinch of Incense for Intimacy. It will smoke and burn immediately. Add further pinches of the incense as desired.
