Candace, Patrick and Sue celebrate their 100th podcast by looking back at the herbalism field over past 40 months. So much has changed in their lives and in the world of herbal medicine. When Real Herbalism Radio (RHR) started, podcasting was just begin to take hold as an art form. It seemed as easy way to spread the word about their favorite topic. No one foresaw the changes to come. In the years that followed, RHR expanded from a biweekly podcast to a weekly podcast. After learning a lot of hard lessons about mixing and recording equipment, the podcast hosts have grown in confidence and skill. They expanded to interviews both live and remote, talking to guests on both coasts and in other countries. This is quite the adventure for a couple of friends that met on an herb walk. Cannabis became legal while they began broadcasting which is changing the view of herbal medicine. The opioid epidemic exploded which is bringing attention to other pain reliving options for the medical community. This puts herbalists in a peculiar spot of being asked to offer non-addictive options along side the those that used to discredit them. These are just some of the changes discussed on the 100th podcast for Real Herbalism Radio.
