I got a recipe for Healthy Bone and Joint Cocktail from my massage therapist because my knees and joints often feel a little sore in the mornings. I modified it to use some of the herbs I keep on hand. It’s meant to be taken at night, about half an hour before sleep, because when you sleep your body does the bulk of its recovery and repair work. My massage therapist said the nutrients this cocktail offers give your bones and joints a particular boost. On the morning after I drink Healthy Bone and Joint Cocktail, I’ve noticed I rarely feel sore at all, so I reckon it’s working splendidly.
Be sure to mix this cocktail really well. The gelatin will give it a slightly grainy, lumpy texture. I like to shake mine in a cocktail shaker, hence the name, Healthy Bone and Joint Cocktail.
Ingredients
- 6oz. calcium enriched orange juice
- 1/4-1/2 tsp unflavored gelatin
- 2 Tbsp nettle leaf, powdered
Equipment
- A cocktail shaker or another resealable container
- measuring spoons
- a liquid measuring cup
- a spice grinder or blender (to grind the nettle leaf to a powder)
Procedure
- Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- Shake or mix the mixture well.
- Pour your cocktail into a cup and enjoy!
Storage and Use
Healthy Bone and Joint Cocktail should be mixed and consumed daily. It doesn’t store well. Consume the entire cocktail about 30 minutes before bed and rest assured you’ve give your body the nutrients you need to keep those bones and joints healthy.
