We all love our animals but unfortunately, so do fleas. Gamera, one of my four cats, is particularly sensitive to flea bites. Although he is an inside cat, this year the fleas found him. After several failed attempts with commercial products, this recipe along with our family’s diligence helped him get rid of the nasty bloodsuckers. I put one drop on the back of his neck every week
Summer is my favorite time to enjoy iced tea. This recipe is based on the sweet mint teas brewed in traditional Moroccan households to greet visitors and beat the heat. In Africa, gunpowder tea is brewed and flavored with spearmint or absinthe and then sweetened with copious amounts of sugar. This recipe hopes to honor the wisdom of using green tea and mint to cool the body but without quite as much sugar.

My daughter and I share a well-honed talent for seeking out poison oak. Over the years, we have tried many remedies for keeping the rash from itching and spreading. This blend works the best. It is always best to be proactive but Poison Oak Spray does the job when the symptoms have gotten away from us. Just a little goes a long way with this formula. The symptoms should disappear within 24 -48 hours with regular use.
Most bathroom air fresheners have an overwhelming scent. This formula is light and refreshing yet effective enough to cover unpleasant odors. The lavender has an added bonus of serving as an antimicrobial herb for the room in the house that needs it most

Herbal glycerites are a sweet tasting way to extract herbal constituents. For adults who cannot tolerate alcohol, glycerites are a welcome break from teas or syrups. For parents, glycerites are a crafty way to administer potent but unpalatable medicine to fussy children. For people with an upset stomach, a glycerite is welcomed over a tincture any day.
