Now that Galentine’s day and Valentine’s day have both passed, I want to take some time to talk about self-love.

The self-love phenomenon that’s sweeping our culture right now is awesome because it is encouraging everyone to prioritize what feels good for them. Now, obviously this doesn’t always mean shopping sprees and trips to the coast.

Sometimes self-love is just cozying up with a book and a cup of tea. (For me anyway.)

I’m excited to share my favourite self-love tea blend with you guys. It will lead you out of the keyed-up state of fight or flight, relax any muscle tension you’ve got going on, quell an anxious tummy, and tickle your tastebuds along the way.

Self-Love Tea Blend

Recipe serves 4 6oz cups

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp (10 ml) Tulsi
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Oatstraw
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Chamomile
  • 24 oz (700 ml) water

Equipment

  • Kettle
  • Tea pot with lid
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mugs for serving

Make Self-Love Tea

  1. Blend the herbs and add them to your teapot.
  2. Boil the water.
  3. Pour water (fresh off the boil) over your leaves
  4. Make sure to cover with the lid so that those tasty, volatile oils don’t escape in the steam
  5. Allow to steep for 6-8 minutes (for hot) and at least 1 hr (if you want to pour it over ice to make iced tea)

*add rose quartz and your favourite song for best results.
